3 DAY SAFARI FROM ZANZIBAR TO TARANGIRE, NGORONGORO CRATER AND LAKE MANYARA

A 3-day safari from Zanzibar to Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara is a fantastic way to experience the wildlife and stunning landscapes of Tanzania.

Day 1: Zanzibar to Tarangire National Park

• Early Morning:

  • Depart from Zanzibar by flight to Arusha airport, 

  • Upon your arrival our guide will pick you up and drive to Tarangire National Park.

• Tarangire National Park:

  • Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Tarangire, known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. The park is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and many species of birds.

  • Tarangire has a river that attracts wildlife during the dry season, making it a prime spot for game viewing.

  • After the game drive, you’ll head to Heart & Soul lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater

• Morning:

  • Early breakfast and head toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approximately 4-5 hours by road).

  • On the way, you may stop at a Maasai village to learn about their culture.

• Ngorongoro Crater:

  • Arrive and enjoy a picnic lunch at the Ngorongoro Crater rim before descending into the crater.

  • The Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as the "Garden of Eden" and is one of the best places in Tanzania to see the "Big Five" (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhinoceros).

  • A game drive will take you across the lush, fertile landscape of the crater floor, where you may see herds of wildebeest, zebras, and predators like lions.

• Evening:

  • After your game drive, ascend back to the crater rim and head to Ngorongoro Safari Lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara & Return to Zanzibar

• Morning:

  • After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park (approximately 1.5-2 hours drive).

  • Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, flamingos, and diverse habitats, including forests, grasslands, and wetlands.

• Lake Manyara National Park:

  • Spend the morning on a game drive through Lake Manyara, where you might see elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and a variety of bird species, including flamingos around the lake.

  • The park’s varied landscape is a great way to experience different ecosystems in a short amount of time.

• Afternoon:

  • Enjoy lunch and then drive to Arusha or Dar es Salaam to catch your return flight to Zanzibar.

End of Safari

• Return to Zanzibar:

  • In the late afternoon or evening, you’ll return to Zanzibar by flight or ferry, concluding your 3-day safari.
